Travel Interventional Radiology (IR) position with Aya Healthcare in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, TN offers a competitive weekly rate of $2,021 to $2,233. This full‑time, 13‑week assignment begins on August 3, 2026 and features a rotating schedule of five 8‑hour shifts per week.
About the Role
As a travel Interventional Radiology technologist, you will join a dynamic imaging team that performs minimally invasive, image‑guided procedures to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions. You’ll work closely with interventional radiologists, nurses, and support staff to ensure each procedure is conducted safely, efficiently, and with the highest level of patient care.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and operate angiography, fluoroscopy, and other imaging equipment for IR procedures.
- Assist physicians during vascular, non‑vascular, and percutaneous interventions, including embolizations, stent placements, and biopsies.
- Monitor patient vital signs, administer contrast media, and respond to any adverse reactions.
- Maintain sterile fields, follow radiation safety protocols, and ensure equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.
- Document procedures accurately in the electronic health record and communicate findings to the clinical team.
- Provide compassionate patient education and support before, during, and after interventions.
What We're Looking For
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography and a valid state license to practice as a radiology technologist.
- Proven experience in an interventional radiology or cardiovascular imaging setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Strong technical skills with angiographic suites, flat‑panel detectors, and contrast injection systems.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, adapt to rotating shifts, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety.
