The Perry Group, a CDM Smith company, is hiring a full-time Site Construction Manager 1 for substation projects in Pinecraft, Sarasota County. This is a 100% field-based role overseeing construction operations, quality assurance, and team coordination on electrical infrastructure improvements.

About the Role

As Site Construction Manager 1, you'll lead daily field operations for substation construction projects, ensuring work progresses safely, on schedule, and within specifications. You'll serve as the primary point of contact between project management, contractors, and field crews, translating plans into executed work while maintaining quality standards and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

• Oversee substation construction activities from site setup through completion, ensuring adherence to approved plans and specifications
• Coordinate with field teams, equipment operators, and subcontractors to maintain workflow and resolve conflicts promptly
• Conduct regular site inspections, document progress, and prepare daily/weekly reports for project stakeholders
• Monitor budget performance, material logistics, and labor productivity to keep projects on track
• Enforce safety protocols and environmental standards on all job sites, promoting a culture of compliance
• Identify construction challenges and implement solutions in collaboration with senior management
• Maintain clear communication with engineering teams regarding design questions or field changes

What We're Looking For

• 1–3 years of construction management or site supervision experience, preferably on utility or infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of construction safety practices, OSHA regulations, and quality control methods
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with comfort working in dynamic field environments
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work 100% in the field
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
