Technical Solution Architect

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology solutions provider with a strong presence in product engineering and embedded systems development. Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of complex engineering solutions across automotive, industrial, consumer, and healthcare sectors.

This is a remote position based in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, working full-time with cross-functional teams to architect scalable, secure technical solutions from concept through implementation.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end technical architectures that balance client requirements with budget, timeline, and technical constraints, prioritizing scalability and security
• Lead technical discovery sessions during pre-sales phases, evaluate RFP requirements, and develop solution concepts with cost estimates
• Select and benchmark appropriate technology stacks including embedded systems, cloud platforms, frameworks, and databases tailored to specific industries
• Focus on system architecture spanning electronics hardware, embedded firmware, and mechanical design with emphasis on industrial and automotive applications
• Provide technical governance and mentorship to engineering teams, reviewing code and architecture while establishing best practices
• Develop hands-on prototypes and proof-of-concept implementations to validate architectural approaches and minimize technical risk
• Translate complex technical designs into clear, value-driven language for non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership
• Guide teams through legacy system modernization and poorly-documented environments

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline
• 8+ years in software engineering or systems design, with at least 3+ years in architectural or client-facing consultant roles
• Experience within agency, consultancy, or engineering service firm environments strongly preferred
• Advanced expertise in complete product design lifecycle with hands-on experience in BSP and firmware development across multiple microcontrollers and microprocessors
• Deep understanding of microservices, event-driven architectures, serverless computing, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, standards, production line testing, and test fixtures
• Consultative mindset with ability to quickly understand business models across automotive, industrial, healthcare, and consumer verticals
• Proven ability to guide cross-functional teams and build trust with client leadership
• Comfortable managing ambiguity and working with incomplete documentation
• Fluency in English required; German language skills are advantageous
