About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology organization seeking an Associate Software Application Engineer for their Costa Rica operations. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to build foundational skills in software development and application engineering.

You will contribute to the development, maintenance, and support of software applications, ensuring proper integration with other systems, databases, and technology components. This role offers hands-on experience in implementation, configuration, testing, and continuous improvement of business-critical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software applications following established quality standards
• Execute unit testing to identify and resolve defects
• Participate in build, deployment, and implementation activities
• Monitor performance and availability of developed solutions
• Analyze requirements and understand assigned use cases
• Evaluate the impact of changes and updates on existing applications
• Comply with development standards, code control, and continuous integration practices
• Report progress, risks, and incidents in a timely manner
• Engage in training and professional development activities
• Provide basic technical support for implemented applications and solutions

What We're Looking For

Required Education:

• University degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (required; candidates without a professional university degree will not be considered)

Experience:

• 0-2 years of experience in software development
• Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming and application development
• Understanding of databases, software testing, and software development lifecycle
• Academic or professional experience with agile methodologies and version control tools is desirable
