Systems Engineer III-VI

The Opportunity

As a Systems Engineer at Xenergy in Rockville, Maryland, you'll play a critical role in designing and deploying infrastructure solutions that power our operations. Your Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise systems infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments
• Troubleshoot complex system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions
• Develop and maintain system documentation, runbooks, and disaster recovery procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure with business requirements
• Monitor system performance, capacity, and security; recommend and implement improvements
• Lead infrastructure projects, manage vendor relationships, and oversee system upgrades and deployments
• Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering best practices and knowledge sharing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on systems engineering experience in enterprise environments
• Deep knowledge of operating systems, networking, storage, and virtualization technologies
• Proficiency with infrastructure automation, scripting, and configuration management tools
• Strong understanding of security principles, compliance requirements, and system hardening
• Experience designing and implementing scalable, highly available systems
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
