Systems Administrator – Senior

Bridge-defense seeks an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to lead infrastructure operations and maintain critical systems at our Wright-Patterson AFB, OH facility. This full-time position offers the opportunity to oversee complex IT environments supporting defense and technology initiatives.

Position Summary

As Senior Systems Administrator at Bridge-defense, you'll design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level systems that power our operations at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. You'll lead a technical team, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and ensure 24/7 availability of mission-critical infrastructure while adhering to federal security standards and compliance requirements.

Core Duties

• Architect, deploy, and manage server environments, virtualization platforms, and storage systems supporting active operations
• Oversee system performance monitoring, capacity planning, and infrastructure optimization to meet organizational demands
• Administer user access, authentication systems, and network security protocols with rigorous attention to federal and DoD security guidelines
• Lead incident response activities, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and coordinate emergency recovery procedures
• Develop and enforce documented IT policies, procedures, and disaster recovery plans
• Mentor junior technical staff and contribute to knowledge transfer within the systems team
• Coordinate patches, updates, and system upgrades with minimal operational disruption
• Audit system configurations and implement security hardening measures aligned with organizational standards

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on systems administration experience in enterprise or government environments
• Demonstrated expertise with Windows Server, Linux, virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of networking, firewalls, Active Directory, DNS, and TCP/IP protocols
• Experience with systems monitoring tools, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning
• Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (NIST, FISMA, or equivalent security standards) is highly valued
• Excellent communication skills and ability to document technical processes clearly
• Current or ability to obtain security clearance required
