About the Role

The Surgical Scheduler III role is central to optimizing our operating room operations. You'll work at a senior scheduling level, managing high-volume surgical calendars, coordinating among surgeons and surgical staff, and ensuring seamless case flow from scheduling through completion. This position requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to changing patient and clinical needs.

What You'll Do

  • Schedule and coordinate surgical procedures, managing surgeon preferences, OR availability, and patient requirements
  • Communicate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and patients to confirm appointments and gather necessary pre-operative information
  • Handle changes, cancellations, and urgent rescheduling requests while maintaining case logistics and patient safety standards
  • Process and monitor insurance authorizations and pre-certification for surgical cases
  • Maintain accurate surgical schedules and records using hospital information systems and scheduling software
  • Collaborate with operating room staff to resolve scheduling conflicts and optimize room utilization
  • Provide professional patient communication regarding surgical appointments, pre-op requirements, and procedural details

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in surgical scheduling, healthcare scheduling, or related healthcare coordination role
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), scheduling software, and hospital administrative systems
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
