Join Mozilla as a Staff Program Manager, Trust & Safety in our fully remote, full-time position based in Germany. Lead cross-functional safety initiatives that protect millions of users worldwide while advancing our commitment to a healthier internet.
About the Role
Mozilla's Trust & Safety team is central to building products that put user protection, privacy, and autonomy first. In this staff-level program management position, you'll oversee the design and execution of safety and compliance strategies across our diverse product portfolio, from cutting-edge artificial intelligence systems to marketplace platforms. This strategic role bridges product, engineering, legal, and policy teams to identify emerging risks, implement safeguards, and maintain regulatory compliance at scale. You'll excel in ambiguous, rapidly evolving environments, applying systems thinking to complex safety challenges and building sustainable processes that grow alongside our products.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of critical safety programs designed to reduce harm and harmful user experiences across Mozilla products.
- Work directly with product, engineering, legal, and policy teams to surface emerging risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement proactive safety measures.
- Use analytics, metrics dashboards, and trend analysis to evaluate program performance, identify optimization opportunities, and report progress against business objectives.
- Monitor industry developments, emerging threats, and best practices to inform and evolve Mozilla's safety posture and strategic priorities.
Who We're Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Trust & Safety operations, content moderation governance, or equivalent specialized roles.
- Practical knowledge of content moderation at scale: policy frameworks, human review workflows, and moderation tooling.
- Demonstrated expertise using data visualization, dashboards, and quantitative analysis to drive operational decisions.
- Ability to design, assess, and improve end-to-end safety systems: policies, workflows, technology infrastructure, and escalation processes.
- Deep understanding of contemporary online harms: data privacy breaches, disinformation campaigns, and fraud schemes.
- Solid grasp of AI safety considerations: fairness, algorithmic accountability, and transparent decision-making.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical rigor, and judgment in high-stakes scenarios.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfort presenting findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
- Agility in dynamic environments; proven capacity to learn new policy domains, pivot across problem spaces, and adapt to changing organizational needs.
