About the Role
This full‑time position reports to the Executive Director and partners with the board, program staff, and community leaders to design and execute a comprehensive development plan that advances the Club’s mission of empowering San Francisco youth.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement annual fundraising goals, including major gifts, foundation grants, corporate partnerships, and special events.
- Cultivate and steward a portfolio of individual donors, ensuring personalized engagement and timely acknowledgment.
- Oversee grant writing and reporting processes, maintaining compliance with funder requirements.
- Direct the planning and execution of fundraising events, such as galas, tournaments, and peer‑to‑peer campaigns.
- Manage the development team, providing mentorship, setting performance objectives, and fostering a collaborative culture.
- Analyze donor data and market trends to refine strategies and improve return on investment.
- Work closely with finance to forecast revenue, track pledges, and prepare development budgets for board review.
- Represent Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco at community gatherings, speaking engagements, and donor meetings.
What We're Looking For
- Proven success in senior fundraising leadership, preferably within youth services, education, or nonprofit sectors.
- Strong track record of securing major gifts ($50K+) and managing multi‑year grant portfolios.
- Expertise in designing integrated fundraising campaigns that combine direct mail, digital, and event‑based tactics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders, including high‑net‑worth individuals and institutional funders.
- Strategic thinker who can translate organizational goals into actionable development plans.
- Experience managing a development team and overseeing CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce).
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and the mission of empowering underserved youth.
