Senior Mechanic

About the Role

As a senior member of the maintenance team, you will ensure that all machinery and transportation assets operate safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting the company’s service commitments.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks, vans, and specialized equipment.
• Lead routine inspections, identify wear patterns, and recommend corrective actions.
• Supervise and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate service records, parts inventories, and warranty documentation.
• Coordinate with parts suppliers and external vendors to secure necessary components promptly.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and internal safety standards throughout the shop.
• Assist in developing work schedules and prioritizing tasks to meet operational deadlines.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience as a mechanic, with at least two years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required.
• ASE certification in relevant areas (e.g., brakes, electrical systems, diesel engines) or equivalent trade qualification.
• Proficiency with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control systems commonly found in commercial fleets.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to read technical schematics and service manuals.
• Excellent communication abilities to train staff and convey repair status to management.
• Commitment to workplace safety and a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement.
