This posting establishes an ongoing pool of qualified candidates for Graduate Assistant positions with the Speaking Center at the Jack H. Brown College (JHBC). As a full-time, on-campus Graduate Assistant, you will help students build confidence in oral communication, public speaking, and presentation delivery within one of the Inland Empire's leading centers of intellectual and cultural life. Founded in 1965 at the foothills of the San Bernardino mountains, CSUSB serves roughly 19,000 students and is a federally recognized minority-serving and Hispanic-serving institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor students one-on-one and in small groups on speech preparation and delivery
- Provide constructive feedback on presentations, outlines, and speaking techniques
- Support day-to-day operations and scheduling within the Speaking Center
- Maintain accurate records of consultations and student progress
- Collaborate with faculty and Center staff to advance student communication outcomes
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in good standing in a CSUSB graduate program
- Strong oral and written communication abilities
- Interest in tutoring, mentoring, or peer education
