About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential cleantech organization that is scaling rapidly in the distributed energy sector. They are seeking a Solutions Engineer to join their London team and play a critical role in building integrations and technical infrastructure that connect energy assets to market systems.
This is a generalist engineering position that blends core software development, customer implementation work, and solution design. You'll work directly with clients to understand technical requirements, build integrations, solve complex challenges, and influence product direction based on real-world feedback.
Our client operates in a flat organizational structure with minimal hierarchy, enabling faster decision-making and greater individual ownership. You'll have the autonomy to manage your own time and drive meaningful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the energy domain, platform architecture, and customer technical requirements
- Build and maintain integrations with customer systems, distributed energy devices, and third-party platforms
- Work closely with customers to troubleshoot technical issues and support implementation projects
- Design scalable technical solutions that guide customers toward faster launches and better user experiences
- Collaborate with the product team to translate customer feedback into product improvements
- Take ownership of delivery quality and impact, focusing on outcomes rather than process
- Adapt to changing scope and deadlines while prioritizing high-value deliverables
What We're Looking For
- Strong software engineering skills with Python (backend systems experience required)
- Experience with React for frontend development
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployment workflows
- Comfort working with cloud platforms, particularly GCP
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Customer-facing experience or willingness to engage directly with clients
- Self-management skills and ability to work effectively in a flat organizational structure
- Interest in AI tooling and willingness to integrate AI into your workflows
- Passion for sustainability and the energy transition
