Software Security Engineer*

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential software consultancy in Frankfurt am Main that delivers enterprise solutions for clients across finance, transportation, and media sectors. In this Software Security Engineer role, you will:

• Work on client consulting and software development projects, designing and implementing secure software solutions
• Apply AI methods and tools throughout the software development lifecycle, including LLMs, agentic frameworks, code generation, and test automation
• Implement and adapt secure software development best practices based on NCSC, OWASP, and MITRE frameworks within project contexts
• Develop with modern technologies such as C#, Java, JavaScript, Spring, or Vue—contributing your strengths while maintaining responsibility for IT security
• Design and build secure cloud infrastructures on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for developed applications
• Integrate security tooling (SAST, SCA, IAST, DAST) within DevOps automation pipelines

What We're Looking For

• University degree in Computer Science or a comparable discipline
• Deep, practical knowledge in software engineering with comfort in both backend and frontend development
• Proven expertise with Secure by Design, Zero Trust, and other IT security principles in complex projects
• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and MITRE CWE Top 25, with demonstrated ability to apply these practices and mitigate corresponding risks
• Experience with DevOps automation and integration of security tools throughout the development pipeline
• Self-directed work style with active contribution to project team success
• Fluent German (minimum C1 level) and strong English (minimum B2 level)
