Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential medical technology organization in their search for a Software Safety Engineer based in their London office. Our client works at the intersection of regulatory compliance and advanced technology, helping medical device manufacturers achieve rigorous safety certification while accelerating time to market.

In this role, you'll assess software lifecycle processes and technical documentation for medical device software systems. You'll work with AI-assisted workflows to navigate complex evidence, explore failure modes, develop critical questions, and surface inconsistencies that require deeper review. This position offers the opportunity to shape how safety assessment evolves as technology capabilities advance, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and applied machine learning teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess software lifecycle processes and technical documentation submitted by customers seeking certification
• Screen and action regulatory insights from the latest research, standards, and guidance
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and applied machine learning teams to improve internal assessment systems
• Work with market access colleagues to expand certification capabilities to new jurisdictions and certification types
• Create content that explains complex regulatory topics to customers and prospects
• Provide regulatory insights and guidance to prospects and customers

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Degree in computer science or a related discipline
• Four or more years' experience in medical device or other safety-critical product manufacturing, auditing, or research
• Two or more years' experience developing safety-critical software
• Practical experience with software development fundamentals, including software development lifecycle processes, software verification and validation testing, software configuration management, and cybersecurity
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

• Knowledge or training in relevant standards and guidance for medical device software, such as IEC 62304 and IEC 81001-5-1
• Practical experience with generative AI including LLMs, embeddings, RAG, fine-tuning, and evaluation/monitoring
