Software IV&V Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential defense technology organization based in Munich that is seeking a Software IV&V Lead. Our client develops advanced autonomous systems and requires an independent verification and validation authority to ensure software quality and safety across complex deployments. This is a unique opportunity to lead quality assurance for mission-critical software in a high-stakes engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce software testing frameworks and QA processes based on ISTQB standards across all capability teams
• Manage test infrastructure, tooling, environments, and test data; ensure qualification of testing tools and generation of audit-proof evidence
• Oversee validation and verification phases of the V-Model, including unit, integration, and sub-system-level testing before hardware integration
• Deliver bidirectional traceability between software requirements, architectural design, implementation, and testing in collaboration with Software Configuration Management
• Establish and oversee defect, deviation, and problem management processes, ensuring systematic tracking and resolution
• Drive adoption of strict coding standards (such as MISRA for C++) using automated static analysis and code coverage metrics
• Verify compliance with SCM processes, auditing baselines, versions, reproducible builds, and release packages
• Provide independent quality gate approvals and formal release recommendations via the Engineering Change Request process
• Lead preparation, execution, and follow-up for internal software QA assessments and external regulatory audits

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience defining and enforcing software testing frameworks and QA processes based on ISTQB standards
• Deep expertise managing validation and verification phases of the V-Model for complex software systems
• Hands-on experience with automated static analysis tools and enforcing coding standards such as MISRA for C++
• Strong background in requirements traceability and managing interfaces between software requirements and test execution
• Solid knowledge of Software Configuration Management processes, including version control, reproducible builds, and release auditing
• Demonstrated capability in defect and deviation management with systematic tracking and resolution
• Professional experience within defense or aerospace sectors working with safety-critical software systems (preferred)
• Familiarity with external regulatory audits and internal quality assessments (preferred)
• Experience with flight testing operations or hardware-in-the-loop integration environments (preferred)
