Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential open-source technology organization seeking a Software Engineer for their Release Engineering team. In this role, you will:
- Write software that scales to handle tens of thousands of automated build, test, and release tasks daily
- Collaborate with senior+ engineers to improve developer experience across the CI/CD pipeline, then implement those improvements
- Work with a geographically-distributed development team spanning North America and Europe
- Participate in code reviews, both requesting feedback and providing thorough reviews for colleagues
- Respond to critical service outages during normal working hours (no on-call rotation required)
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with object-oriented programming languages (Python preferred)
- Passion for CI/CD pipelines and release automation
- Previous experience using cloud resources (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Comfort developing across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments with shell scripting experience
- Experience working on teams distributed across time zones
- Enthusiasm for diving into existing code bases and identifying optimization opportunities
- Strong collaborative mindset and commitment to team values
