Software Engineer, Quality Engineering

We are representing a confidential gaming technology organization in their search for a Software Engineer, Quality Engineering based in Bristol. Our client develops industry-leading development tools, and this role offers the opportunity to test the platforms used by professionals worldwide. You'll work alongside experts in quality engineering and contribute to tools that power creative innovation.

Responsibilities

• Develop tests for new applications, features, and regression scenarios
• Collaborate with application teams to develop comprehensive test strategies
• Automate tests and integrate them into continuous integration systems
• Investigate issues and create reproducible test cases for development teams
• Conduct manual and exploratory testing to uncover edge cases
• Report test results clearly, including performance metrics and coverage data
• Develop tooling to reduce test execution time and improve efficiency
• Make recommendations for product improvements based on testing insights
• Work with global, cross-functional teams to develop organization-wide test strategies and infrastructure
• Mentor peers, share best practices, and influence quality engineering approaches across the team

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience developing tests for software applications
• Proven experience automating tests
• Strong understanding of software testing techniques and methodologies
• Good C# programming skills
• Understanding of C++
• Experience triaging bugs and creating reproducible tests
• Hands-on experience with software build tools, issue tracking systems, and source control
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools, LLMs, or agentic technologies to improve engineering productivity, with understanding of how to review, validate, and apply generated output safely

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Windows applications
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio
• Experience using Selenium/Appium
• Experience with PowerShell and Python
• Experience testing development tools
• Experience testing on Linux and Mac platforms
