Software Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential food-delivery technology company in their search for a talented Software Engineer (Golang) to join their London headquarters. Our client is scaling their customer support infrastructure globally, and this role sits at the intersection of high-impact tooling and millions of daily user interactions.

Their internal support engineering team builds the platforms that power customer, courier, and merchant assistance across dozens of countries. You'll be working on systems that handle approximately 5 million chat conversations monthly, along with automation tools that proactively resolve issues and streamline support operations at scale.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high-throughput backend services using Go that power internal support tooling
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend developers to deliver features supporting global support teams
• Design scalable, resilient systems capable of handling millions of interactions
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy discussions
• Write well-tested code and uphold high code quality standards across the team
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and rapid incident response

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and scaling complex systems
• Production experience with Golang and strong engineering practices
• Hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, particularly Cassandra
• Solid understanding of designing and operating low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems
• Previous on-call experience with a pragmatic approach to reliability and incident management

Nice to Have:

• Background in Node.js or other backend languages
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and event-driven architectures
