Software Developer II (Remote, US)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential telecommunications infrastructure client seeking a Software Developer II to join their distributed engineering team. This is a fully remote position open to candidates across the United States.

Our client operates critical network infrastructure that connects enterprises, governments, and communities. You'll contribute to data platform modernization, automation frameworks, and cloud-based integration systems that support large-scale digital operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software and automation solutions for data-driven account and customer domain systems
• Build automation scripts for data migration, payload generation, fallout handling, and reconciliation processes
• Develop data integration pipelines across source systems, downstream platforms, and cloud environments to ensure accuracy and traceability
• Implement monitoring, reconciliation frameworks, and audit controls to improve operational reliability and SLA compliance
• Work with Apache Spark and Databricks to support large-scale data processing initiatives
• Support event-driven architectures using Kafka for real-time data publishing and system integration
• Contribute to analytics enablement, ensuring data pipelines align with governance standards and support leadership dashboards
• Participate in design reviews, code walkthroughs, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain technical quality
• Provide on-call and production support for critical data hub and account-domain processes
• Create and maintain technical documentation to support knowledge transfer

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder
• Strong experience with enterprise systems, account/customer domains, and enterprise data integration
• Proficiency in data engineering and databases, including PostgreSQL (queries, migrations, performance tuning) and ETL concepts
• Strong skills in Python, SQL, and Shell scripting for automation and data processing
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, and distributed data processing
• Experience with Kafka or event-driven architectures, including Kafka Connect and JDBC connectors
• Azure cloud experience, especially Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), plus familiarity with cloud networking, SSL/certificates, and deployments
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for building and maintaining REST APIs and web services
• Understanding of metadata governance and analytics-ready data pipelines
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (GitHub), and Jira-driven agile workflows
• Experience building reconciliation, monitoring, and audit frameworks for enterprise systems
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including technical documentation
• Experience with Informatica is a plus
