(Senior) Test Engineer – HiL / Power HiL (all genders)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential aerospace engineering organization developing cutting-edge electric propulsion systems. We're seeking a Senior Test Engineer with deep expertise in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) and Power HiL testing to join their advanced manufacturing and testing facility. This role offers the chance to work on innovative electric aviation technology in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your contributions will directly impact the development and certification of next-generation aircraft systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete test process from initial request through final reporting, ensuring reliable and insightful documentation
• Execute test campaigns for both R&D and certification purposes, with primary focus on Battery Management System (BMS) integration
• Oversee multiple test assets, ensuring readiness, safety compliance, and proper calibration
• Optimize asset schedules to maximize testing efficiency across concurrent projects
• Design and develop HiL and Power HiL test rigs in coordination with support teams and suppliers
• Create software solutions for test rigs focused on electric motor, battery, and system integration testing
• Collaborate with design engineers to assess and refine test requirements
• Partner with software, mechanical, and electrical specialists to innovate test solutions
• Foster a strong safety culture within test facilities and establish operational best practices
• Lead integration and testing of electronic control units for electric propulsion systems

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Aerospace, Computer, Software, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering (or related field)
• 3+ years of professional experience in real-time simulation laboratories
• Proven expertise in developing HiL and Power HiL test rigs (essential requirement)
• Proficiency with test rig systems and software such as Matlab/Simulink, National Instruments, or Speedgoat
• Knowledge of Battery Management Systems (highly desirable)
• Experience with aerospace standards such as DO-178 (desirable)
• Familiarity with high-voltage components and aircraft integration labs (a plus)
• Proactive, driven mindset with comfort working in ambiguous environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and goal-oriented approach
• Excellent team player with self-reliant and adaptable working style
• Fluent in English; German or other languages are advantageous
• Ability to anticipate needs and work with incomplete requirements
