About This Opportunity
We are representing a leading European e-commerce organization in their search for a Senior Tax Manager to join their finance team in Munich. This is a permanent position based in Munich with a hybrid working model.
In this role, you will take ownership of all corporate tax matters for a multi-national group, including consolidated tax reporting under German GAAP and IFRS, corporate income tax compliance for German entities, and driving exciting tax operations and digitalization projects.
Responsibilities
- Independently calculate current and deferred taxes for consolidated financial statements under HGB and IFRS (IAS 12), including effective tax rate reconciliation and preparation of all relevant tax disclosures as part of the fast-close process
- Prepare corporate income tax returns for German group entities
- Communicate with tax authorities and actively manage tax audits
- Participate in and lead tax projects, including specialized income tax matters, tax compliance management system development, and optimization of tax workflow processes
- Collaborate closely with internal departments (Accounting, Controlling, Legal, FinTech) and coordinate external tax advisors domestically and internationally
What We're Looking For
- Successfully completed degree in economics, law with focus on tax law, or comparable qualification (tax advisor certification is a plus but not required)
- Minimum five years of practical experience within a corporate tax department or comparable role at a Big Four or mid-sized tax advisory firm
- Strong, practical knowledge of German corporate income tax law (tax groups, loss utilization) and tax accounting under HGB and IFRS (especially IAS 12)
- Enthusiasm for tax project work, affinity for digital tax processes, and willingness to dive deep into new income tax topics
- Solution-oriented, structured, and independent working style in a dynamic environment with the drive to advance projects autonomously
- Fluent German and English language skills, plus proficient use of common ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft BC, LucaNet) and tax reporting tools
