Senior Software Engineer, Core Experiences – Düsseldorf, Germany

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology company seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Core Experiences Team in Düsseldorf. This team builds and maintains foundational services and SDKs that power product experiences across multiple platforms. This is a critical role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of product and infrastructure, thinks strategically, and is passionate about designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance the user experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, navigate integration and UX tradeoffs, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDK
• Optimize existing functionality to ship faster loading and more intelligent parsing by designing efficient abstractions and improving algorithms
• Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
• Design end-to-end systems with a focus on simplicity and reliability
• Work autonomously in a remote environment while knowing when to engage with the broader team

What We're Looking For

• Systems thinking: You understand that optimizing a system requires end-to-end design and believe simplicity is valuable
• Speed: You work quickly to generate ideas and options, and know how to decide what ships now versus what needs time
• Focus: You know how and when to engage or be heads down in a fast-paced, remote startup environment
• Collaboration: You can inspire, play, and negotiate with opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers
• Technical skills: Kotlin Multiplatform experience required (Java background acceptable but the role uses Kotlin Multiplatform); prior experience with GCP is a plus
• Senior-level experience building scalable systems and APIs
