(Senior) Frontend Engineer – Visual Experiences

About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading enterprise software organization in their search for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their Visual Experiences team in Munich. Our client builds platforms that transform complex data into actionable insights, and this role sits at the heart of their product's visual foundation—working on design systems, custom chart libraries, and dashboarding infrastructure that serves both human users and AI integrations.

As a member of this team, you'll collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to create scalable, high-performance visual components used across the platform. You'll drive consistency through their design system, optimize UI rendering for large datasets, and build features that enable seamless human-AI collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, reactive frontend architectures for interactive data visualizations
• Develop effective algorithms to solve complex visualization challenges, including dynamic axis labels, histogram bucketing, fast interactions, and dynamic graph layouts
• Optimize browser rendering performance to maintain excellent user experience even with large data volumes
• Collaborate with cross-functional experts to evolve visualization techniques from prototype to production
• Champion visualization best practices and data literacy through knowledge sharing, documentation, and training materials
• Contribute to product roadmap planning by working closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and stakeholders across teams
• Build and maintain reusable components within the design system
• Create schemas, APIs, and component systems that AI agents can interact with effectively

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

• University degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and Angular
• Experience with D3.js, Webpack, GitHub, Jira, and monitoring tools like Datadog
• Comfort using AI coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to enhance productivity
• Interest or hands-on experience building schemas, APIs, and systems for AI agent interactions
• Proven track record optimizing high-load, complex interfaces
• Deep understanding of UX best practices and design system implementation
• Strong collaboration skills with product managers, designers, and technical stakeholders
• Analytical mindset with expertise in algorithms, profiling, and optimization
• Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken

Preferred qualifications:

• Knowledge of data visualization theory and best practices
• Experience with visualization technologies: d3.js, SVG, or charting libraries (Vega-Lite, Observable Plot, Highcharts)
• Several years of production Angular development experience
