Senior Site Reliability Engineer (DevTools)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their DevTools team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work at significant scale—think 25,000 builds per day, 100 TB of artifact storage, and monorepo operations comparable to what you'd find at major technology companies.

The SRE team maintains and grows critical developer tooling systems, modifying open-source and commercial platforms to meet user needs at scale. They're also exploring cutting-edge applications of AI in their operations. This role balances software engineering with reliability work in a 50/50 split, focusing on user-centric problem solving with measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Improve services based on user feedback and define metrics that capture actual user problems
• Build and maintain fault-tolerant, self-healing architecture at scale
• Identify and implement optimizations to speed up systems and reduce user friction
• Modify and extend well-known closed-source and open-source solutions including CI/CD platforms and version control systems
• Provide technical support to internal users and resolve operational issues
• Verify that improvements actually solve the problems users are experiencing

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Combined SRE and software engineering experience with strong coding skills in Java/Kotlin, Go, Python, or Ruby
• Deep understanding of Unix-like systems internals and JVM behavior
• Passion for improving user experience through technical solutions
• Ability to adapt quickly in fast-changing environments

Bonus qualifications:

• Platform Engineering experience
• Hands-on experience operating GitLab or similar version control systems at scale
• Experience with TeamCity or comparable CI systems
• Experience with Spring framework and operating Java monoliths
