About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer for a freelance engagement in Brazil. This remote, part-time role focuses on developing and executing specialized web scraping workflows that deliver accurate, structured datasets for real-world applications.

Our client connects technical specialists with advanced AI and data infrastructure projects. You'll work independently to handle complex data extraction tasks, utilizing both modern scraping tools and custom technical approaches to meet precise project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own complete data extraction workflows across complex websites, ensuring full coverage, accuracy, and reliable delivery of structured datasets
• Build and maintain custom scraping solutions alongside available tools to accelerate data collection, validation, and task execution
• Extract data reliably from dynamic and interactive web sources, adapting to JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site structures
• Enforce rigorous data quality standards through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting adherence, and systematic verification before delivery
• Scale scraping operations for large datasets using efficient batching or parallelization, monitor for failures, and maintain stability against minor site changes

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical field (preferred)
• Upper-intermediate English (B2) or above

Essential Technical Skills:

• Strong Python web scraping experience with BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar libraries
• Proven ability to handle dynamic content (JavaScript, AJAX, infinite scroll) and work with APIs through proxies
• Experience extracting data from complex structures including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML
• Solid background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured outputs (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets)
• Demonstrated experience managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker)
• Practical experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks
