Senior Project Manager – Digital Communications (all genders)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential digital communications consultancy seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead sophisticated CMS-based projects. This role combines project delivery excellence with client relationship development, working at the intersection of technology, communications strategy, design, and content. You'll steward digital projects from conception through implementation and ongoing evolution, ensuring scope, budget, quality, and timelines stay on track while identifying growth opportunities within existing client relationships.

This position is based in Mainz with flexible remote work options available throughout Germany.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex digital implementation projects focused on CMS-based websites, information platforms, and their ongoing development and operations
• Coordinate interdisciplinary teams spanning technology, digital communications, creative, content, and UX disciplines
• Collaborate closely with clients to understand requirements and translate them into concrete project objectives and deliverable solutions
• Monitor and maintain project scope, budget, quality standards, and delivery schedules
• Identify new needs and potential within existing client relationships, developing projects and partnerships alongside domain experts
• Contribute project expertise and perspectives to proposals, tender responses, and competitive pitches
• Navigate complex stakeholder environments with clarity and professionalism, maintaining strong collaboration even in challenging situations
• Extend project management beyond delivery to recognize continuous improvement opportunities

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience managing digital implementation projects, ideally involving websites, information platforms, or other CMS-based solutions
• Passion for actively shaping projects, solutions, and client relationships rather than simply administering tasks
• Strong ability to understand client challenges, recognize potential, and develop appropriate solutions with cross-functional teams
• Comfort working with both technical teams and disciplines like communications, UX, design, creative, and content
• Fluency with various project methodologies (agile and traditional) and skill in applying them contextually; certifications are a plus but not required
• Experience in presales, business development, tender processes, or proposal development is beneficial but not mandatory
• Public sector or adjacent industry project experience is ideal
• Completed university degree or equivalent practical qualification
• Excellent German language skills, both written and verbal, with confident stakeholder communication abilities
