In this senior individual contributor role, you'll lead critical payroll system enhancements, regulatory compliance initiatives, and high-impact operational improvements while partnering with cross-functional teams across HR, Finance, and technical functions.

About This Position

This is a senior individual contributor role combining project leadership, systems analysis, and strategic problem-solving. You'll work with RTX's US Payroll organization to modernize and optimize how the company manages compensation, regulatory compliance, and operational execution. Working primarily from home with occasional on-site visits as needed, you'll partner with HR, Finance, Timekeeping, and technical teams to design and deliver payroll solutions that drive accuracy and efficiency. U.S. citizenship is required, as the role involves access to protected program information.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Own planning and execution of complex US Payroll initiatives, managing full lifecycle from concept to successful completion
  • Guide cross-functional project teams through delivery milestones, controlling scope and budget while mitigating risk
  • Create comprehensive business requirements, design specifications, and technical documentation for payroll enhancements and regulatory updates
  • Conduct thorough analysis of current payroll processes and system performance; diagnose gaps and recommend data-driven improvements
  • Partner with Payroll Operations, HR, Finance, and Timekeeping leaders to understand needs, define solutions, and resolve implementation challenges
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and strategic recommendations to senior business stakeholders
  • Spot opportunities to automate workflows, reduce manual effort, and elevate system capabilities
  • Champion structured governance and change management while fostering innovation in payroll operations

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship is required to access program information
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Accounting, Finance, or a related field plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Payroll, Timekeeping, HR, or Finance; OR an Advanced Degree plus a minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Hands-on experience with ADP EV5/Autopay payroll systems
  • Demonstrated success leading structured, multi-phase projects to completion
  • Ability to analyze business processes and translate complex requirements into clear technical specifications
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management capabilities
  • Demonstrated excellence in communicating complex ideas, facilitating team discussions, presenting to leadership, and negotiating outcomes
  • Proven track record of taking initiative, driving change, and resolving issues with urgency and focus
  • Preferred: Experience with ADP Globalview or Workday payroll systems; PMP or equivalent project management certification; leadership of large-scale or global initiatives
