Senior Product Manager, Core People Technology

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization in their search for a Senior Product Manager to lead their Core People Technology platform. This is a hands-on individual contributor role based in London with a hybrid working model, reporting to senior product leadership.

Our client operates HR and workforce management systems that process every hire, transfer, leave, pay change, and offboarding action across a global, multi-market employee base. You'll be the first dedicated product manager for their Workday-based core platform, responsible for turning high-volume, high-stakes demand into a clear, defensible roadmap while building the intake systems and frameworks that create sustainable operations.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end prioritization for the Core platform, building a transparent ranked plan and communicating trade-offs to stakeholders across People Operations, Compliance, Payroll, and Total Rewards
• Translate incomplete or vague partner requests into documented problems, mapped processes, and testable outcomes
• Work hands-on with Business Systems Analysts and engineers to shape, size, and document tickets, maintaining an accurate view of committed and delivered work
• Hold difficult prioritization conversations with stakeholders, including clear "not now" decisions, while maintaining productive working relationships
• Build and evolve the operating model for the analyst and engineering pod, including intake mechanisms, documentation standards, and delivery processes
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate requirements translation and documentation, while applying careful judgment about where automation should not be used (pay, leave, employment status, right-to-work)
• Proactively escalate on statutory compliance exposure, audit risk, cross-team dependencies, and any trade-offs affecting compliance deadlines
• Report delivery progress against plan to partners and leadership with transparency when outcomes fall short

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience owning a product or systems area end-to-end with genuine decision authority over scope and sequencing
• Hands-on background with Workday or comparable HRIS platforms as a product manager or technical program manager, including deep understanding of configuration, business processes, and integrations
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize when demand structurally exceeds capacity, with a repeatable methodology for making decisions and communicating what won't be done
• Track record of delivery in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where you start before requirements are complete
• Strong skills translating a stakeholder's requested solution into a well-defined problem statement and testable outcome
• Experience collaborating across technical and non-technical teams, particularly with compliance, payroll, or other regulated functions
• Practical fluency with AI tools for requirements drafting and documentation, paired with sound judgment about appropriate use cases
