About the Role
Oracle's computer vision and generative AI teams are building the next generation of intelligent systems that transform how organizations extract value from visual data. As a Senior Principal Applied Scientist, you'll architect and advance our biometric identification, facial recognition, and vision-based AI solutions across OCI. This is a leadership role where your research directly influences product strategy and customer capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Lead the research, design, and implementation of advanced computer vision models for biometric and generative AI applications
- Collaborate with applied scientists and software engineers to transition research into production systems that serve enterprise customers
- Drive innovation in image analysis, recognition algorithms, and deep learning architectures that scale across OCI infrastructure
- Mentor junior scientists and engineers, establishing technical direction and best practices for computer vision development
- Partner with product and customer teams to identify vision AI use cases and develop solutions tailored to business needs
- Publish and present research findings to advance the field and establish Oracle's thought leadership in generative AI and vision
What We're Looking For
- PhD or equivalent expertise in computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, or related field with proven research contributions
- 10+ years of professional experience in applied science, with demonstrated success shipping production computer vision systems
- Mastery of modern deep learning frameworks, image processing techniques, and large-scale model training
- Expertise in biometric systems, facial recognition, or related vision domains at the principal level
- Strong background in generative AI and foundation models, with experience adapting them to vision tasks
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and influence architecture decisions across large organizations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex research into business impact
