Senior PR Manager (m/w/d) – Freelance

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential PR and communications firm based in Berlin that is building a flexible pool of experienced freelance PR professionals. Our client works with high-growth organizations across Europe and is looking for senior-level practitioners who can integrate seamlessly into existing account teams during periods of increased demand.

This is a freelance arrangement designed for experienced PR managers who value autonomy, results-based compensation, and collaborative teamwork without the overhead of traditional agency employment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with assigned PR teams on one or more client accounts, working as an integrated team member rather than in isolation
• Develop compelling story angles and narratives aligned with client objectives and target media lists provided by the core team
• Pitch journalists directly using your established media relationships and network
• Contribute actively to team discussions, strategic planning, and campaign execution
• Manage your workload independently within the framework of clearly defined goals and target outcomes
• Participate in regular coordination calls and updates with the core team as needed
• Scale your involvement across multiple accounts based on performance, capacity, and mutual fit

What We're Looking For

• Multiple years of genuinely independent PR or journalism experience
• Active, current relationships with journalists and editors—not just a contact list from past roles, but a network you engage with regularly today
• Deep expertise in at least one industry vertical such as venture capital, mobility, cleantech, or healthtech, with strong understanding of the relevant media landscape
• German language proficiency at C2 level (native or near-native)
• Professional-level English communication skills
• Comfort with or openness to results-based compensation models
• Based in or near Berlin, with ability to collaborate with local teams
• Proven ability to work autonomously while staying aligned with team objectives
