Senior Platform Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS portfolio organization seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their central infrastructure team. This is a fully remote role open to candidates across Europe.

Our client operates a portfolio model, providing shared platform services and best-practice guidance to multiple software brands. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll own infrastructure outcomes for a set of these brands—assessing their current state, recommending modernization paths, and implementing hands-on improvements. The role blends architecture, enablement, and practical engineering in a high-trust, low-bureaucracy environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure projects for assigned brands, including migrations, performance and reliability improvements, incident response practices, containerization, and cloud cost optimizations
• Establish or upgrade CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring, alerting, and SLO-aligned dashboards; baseline and improve reliability with measurable data
• Advise engineering leadership on trade-offs and architecture decisions; justify recommendations with clear reasoning and measurable outcomes
• Contribute to and consume central platform services (observability, backups, etc.) so brands benefit from shared standards
• Collaborate with developers as part of product teams during engagements; troubleshoot across application and infrastructure boundaries
• Integrate AI coding tools into your daily workflow and coach brand teams on adopting these practices for infrastructure as code, scripting, and incident diagnosis
• Participate in a lightweight on-call rotation that scales fairly across the team

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering roles, operating with strong ownership and autonomy
• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and practical experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
• Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and best practices; able to assess, design, and modernize pipelines across diverse environments
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, New Relic, ELK, Prometheus, or similar, with sound judgment on best practices
• Hands-on, daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, or similar) in real infrastructure work; comfortable coaching teams on effective use
• Background in software development or the ability to read and debug application code
• Excellent communication and consulting skills; confident in advising and influencing technical stakeholders while adapting to different teams and tech stacks
