About This Opportunity
Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their London operations. This is an opportunity to work with sophisticated distributed systems running on multi-vendor, highly available network infrastructure handling diverse traffic profiles.
In this role, you'll help scale networks to meet growing business demands, drive standardization through automation, and explore opportunities to leverage AI for operational improvements. Responsibilities
- Collaborate on data centre initiatives, colocation projects, and WAN routing optimization across multiple teams
- Interface with stakeholders to assess business requirements and develop innovative network features and capabilities
- Lead both reactive support tasks and proactive infrastructure improvements with thorough documentation to reduce outages and enhance troubleshooting
- Explore AI and ML-driven enhancements to streamline operations and improve service quality
- Apply networking expertise to scale team infrastructure while maintaining high performance and reliability standards
- Document solutions and processes with meticulous attention to detail to improve team efficiency
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience operating and deploying network infrastructure, with 3+ years dedicated to ground-up network design
- Deep experience with routing and network protocols including OSPF, BGP, and PIM-SM
- Strong troubleshooting skills with transport protocols such as TCP and UDP
- Comfort operating in Linux environments and proficiency in at least one programming language
- Strong inclination to automate workflows and explore AI/ML approaches to improve efficiency
- Commitment to producing comprehensive, scalable documentation
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and maintain high standards of service
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with diverse global teams
- Flexible, reliable mindset with enthusiasm for knowledge sharing
- Prior exposure to overlay networks (EVPN, VXLAN) is a plus
- Fluent in English
