Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI-powered customer support platform seeking a Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering to lead their EMEA Solutions Engineering team in London. This is a strategic leadership role for someone who can blend player-coach execution with team development, helping enterprise clients transform their customer service through cutting-edge AI technology.

In this position, you'll define the go-to-market strategy for the Solutions Engineering function, build and mentor a high-performing team, and actively engage in complex sales cycles with global brands. You'll work at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Engineering to create vertical-specific solutions and repeatable frameworks that drive revenue growth across the region.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the strategic vision and go-to-market approach for the Solutions Engineering function
• Lead, coach, and scale a high-performing SE team across global regions and core verticals
• Operate as a player-coach, actively engaging in strategic deals while developing team capabilities
• Support complex, six-figure sales cycles with technical guidance, solution architecture, demos, and product evaluation support
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor and executive point of contact for large enterprise customers
• Partner closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, and R&D to shape verticalized GTM motions and solution strategy
• Champion a customer-obsessed culture across the pre-sales journey from outbound to implementation
• Lead discovery, design, and delivery of tailored technical solutions, including proof-of-concepts and business value assessments
• Build reusable, scalable solution frameworks and industry-specific technical assets
• Advocate for customer needs internally to influence product roadmap and prioritization
• Represent the SE function externally through executive meetings and strategic events
• Foster strong relationships with C-level stakeholders, translating AI capabilities into tangible business impact

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of pre-sales experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer/Architect, or related individual contributor role
• 3+ years of experience leading technical pre-sales teams with a proven track record of hiring, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams
• Experience selling AI, data, or highly technical products; or deep curiosity and daily utilization of AI technologies
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to thrive under pressure while solving complex customer challenges
• Humble attitude with a passion to help others and willingness to learn whatever it takes to support the team
• Track record of consistently delivering revenue numbers and producing accurate forecasts while maintaining focus on team development
• Ability to travel internationally on average once a month
• Ability to flex working hours to partner with teams in US and APAC time zones
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
