Senior Machine Learning Engineer – Video AI

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization based in München that is developing innovative solutions for surgical workflow optimization. Our client is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with strong expertise in video AI and computer vision to join their expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge machine learning applications that process surgical video and sensor data, directly impacting patient outcomes and medical professional efficiency. You'll collaborate with a talented engineering team to build and deploy intelligent systems that extract meaningful insights from complex medical data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy machine learning solutions for medical data analysis with emphasis on surgical video processing, including event detection, image segmentation, and object detection
• Participate in the complete ML development lifecycle from requirements gathering and data processing through experimentation, model training, and production deployment
• Advance intelligent software components for surgical procedure analysis, leveraging growing volumes of video data
• Drive the development and productization of AI-based video solutions for medical applications
• Contribute innovative ideas and work independently to create solutions that impact medical professionals globally

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Computer Science, natural sciences, or related field
• 3+ years of professional experience applying modern machine learning methods and computer vision techniques to challenging image processing problems
• Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art ML tooling including experiment management, containerization, orchestration, processing pipelines, and data version control
• Strong demonstrated experience developing complex software systems in Python and/or other programming languages
• Experience gained through industrial projects or PhD research in a relevant area
• Knowledge of cloud-based computing environments (AWS experience is a plus)
• Previous work on AI-based products in the medical technology industry is advantageous
