Senior Full-stack Engineer (Elixir/React) – veterinary software company – (Remote – LATAM)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential veterinary software organization serving animal hospitals globally. We are seeking a Senior Full-stack Engineer to join their product development team remotely from anywhere in Latin America.

In this role, you will design and build modern software solutions that directly impact patient care and operational efficiency for veterinary practices. You'll take ownership of complex features, mentor team members, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable solutions used by thousands of practitioners daily.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of software projects from initial scoping through production release
• Partner with product managers to plan roadmap priorities, guide scope discussions, and size features appropriately
• Design efficient, reliable, and scalable technical solutions for complex business requirements
• Build and maintain software using Elixir for backend services and React for frontend interfaces
• Provide technical mentorship and define work assignments for junior engineers
• Deliver accurate project status updates and proactively communicate blockers
• Lead collaboration with engineering and QA teammates to ensure quality delivery on schedule
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues reported by customers
• Stay current with industry best practices and champion improvements to design, development, testing, and engineering processes

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience building modern SaaS applications
• Deep expertise with Elixir/Erlang or another functional programming language for backend development
• Hands-on experience implementing and consuming GraphQL APIs
• Strong proficiency with React for building responsive user interfaces
• Demonstrated experience with relational database design, query optimization, and efficient data access patterns
• Located in Latin America with legal authorization to work in your country of residence
• Fluent English communication skills for collaborating with distributed teams
