About the Role
You'll prepare detailed cost estimates, analyze project scope, and develop competitive bid proposals. Working alongside project managers, engineers, and business development professionals, you'll ensure accurate pricing, identify cost drivers, and refine our estimating processes. This is a leadership position where your expertise shapes both individual projects and organizational practices.
What You'll Do
- Develop detailed, accurate cost estimates for projects of varying complexity and scale
- Review project documents, drawings, and specifications to identify scope, risks, and cost components
- Operate estimating software and tools to streamline proposal development and bid management
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and business development teams on bid strategy
- Validate labor rates, material pricing, and cost data to ensure competitiveness and profitability
- Train and mentor junior estimators in estimating methodology and software systems
- Champion process improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional estimating experience in construction, engineering, or related industries
- Demonstrated expertise in preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates
- Proficiency with estimating software platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent estimates and meet tight deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related discipline (preferred)
