Senior Engineer – Proxmox (m/w/d) – Remote

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential IT security organization seeking a Senior Engineer for their Proxmox virtualization platform. In this role, you will:

• Build, develop, and operate the future virtualization platform based on Proxmox VE
• Plan and execute migration projects as part of the strategic replacement of existing VMware environments
• Integrate and develop storage, network, and SDN components to ensure high-performance and highly available infrastructure
• Create operational, architectural, and migration concepts while supporting technology and architecture decisions
• Automate and optimize operational processes and ensure stable platform operations
• Participate in on-call rotations and planned 24/7 maintenance work as needed

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed IT training, computer science degree, or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience operating and developing virtualization platforms, with hands-on experience using Proxmox VE
• Very strong Linux knowledge and solid expertise in enterprise storage, network architectures, and SDN technologies
• Experience with infrastructure transformation and migration projects, along with strong architectural understanding
• High degree of personal responsibility and willingness to participate in on-call duties and scheduled maintenance windows
• Good German and English language skills
