Core Duties

• Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates by analyzing drawings, specifications, addenda, and scope narratives
• Complete accurate quantity takeoffs for conductors, raceways, gear, fixtures, devices, and related materials and labor
• Obtain, compare, and document vendor and specialty contractor pricing to build competitive yet complete bids
• Produce polished estimate packages, bid day summaries, and risk notes for internal review and decision-making
• Coordinate with project managers, designers, and field leaders to clarify design intent and refine scopes of work
• Flag constructability issues, cost drivers, and practical value-engineering options early in the process
• Guide less experienced estimators on takeoff methods, pricing logic, and documentation standards
• Stay current on local labor productivity factors, material market conditions, and applicable electrical code requirements affecting Grand Rapids-area work

What You Bring

• Demonstrated senior-level experience preparing electrical estimates for construction projects, preferably managing complex bids with minimal oversight
