Senior Developer – Telecom Mobile Test Probes

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential telecom technology organization that develops advanced network testing solutions used by mobile operators worldwide. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Developer to join their India-based engineering group working on next-generation mobile test probe technology for 4G, 5G, and IoT networks.

This role focuses on building sophisticated test traffic generation systems that help mobile operators validate and optimize network performance. You'll work with cutting-edge telecom protocols and contribute to a platform deployed across global markets.

Responsibilities

• Develop next-generation mobile test probe applications for 4G, 5G, and IoT networks that simulate real mobile user behavior
• Build software components that generate voice, SMS, and data service traffic for network validation
• Implement C and C++ applications on Linux platforms with focus on performance and reliability
• Design and develop multi-threaded systems for complex network signaling and data exchange
• Work with cellular modem interfaces and network protocols to ensure accurate test simulation
• Collaborate with a small, agile engineering team to deliver high-quality telecom testing solutions
• Analyze and troubleshoot network-level issues using protocol analyzers and monitoring tools
• Contribute to AI-driven development initiatives within the product roadmap

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in telecom sector
• Strong proficiency in C++ programming, including data structures and multi-threading
• Solid Linux system knowledge and development experience
• Deep understanding of Radio Access Network (RAN) layer architecture and device-to-network signaling
• Strong knowledge of mobile network technologies: 3G, 4G, IMS/VoLTE, 5G, and IoT
• Experience with network signaling protocols such as SIP, RRC, and NAS as defined in 3GPP standards
• Demonstrated ability with AI-driven development approaches
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience developing against cellular modems using AT commands, QMI, or modem vendor SDKs
• Hands-on experience with Wireshark, QCAT, or similar network monitoring and protocol analysis tools
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as LUA, Shell, or Perl
• Knowledge of eUICC/eSIM technology and GSMA standards
• Android development background
