Senior Data Engineer – Real time analytics

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Analytics & Data Platform team. This is a remote position based in France, offering the opportunity to work on streaming analytics infrastructure serving thousands of global users.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable, low-latency streaming platform solutions that provide near real-time data processing
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into optimized data models for large-scale environments
• Build and maintain data processing pipelines using modern streaming technologies
• Identify query performance bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies
• Write production-grade code in Scala, Python, and SQL with comprehensive testing
• Architect solutions utilizing both structured and unstructured data sources
• Participate in platform performance optimization and production monitoring
• Mentor team members through collaborative code reviews and knowledge sharing
• Contribute to the continuous deployment pipeline and engineering best practices

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• 3+ years of hands-on experience building near real-time analytics solutions
• 5+ years of professional experience with modern programming languages (Scala, Python, Go, or TypeScript)
• Proven track record designing complex data processing pipelines at scale
• Strong data modeling expertise including star schema and dimensional modeling in AWS Redshift
• Demonstrated ability optimizing queries for performance and cost efficiency
• Experience shipping and maintaining production code in a cloud environment
• Familiarity with AWS services: Kinesis, Kafka, S3, Glue, EMR, EKS, Redshift, Spectrum
• Experience with Apache Pinot, Apache Flink, and Airflow is valuable
• Knowledge of Kafka streaming is a plus
• Collaborative mindset with openness to feedback and continuous learning
