Senior Cyber Security Engineer (Apps) | EMEA

Overview

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential professional services organization with a global footprint. We're seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer specializing in application security to join their EMEA team, working remotely from Poland.

In this role, you'll partner with IT and business stakeholders to evaluate application security posture across cloud and on-premises environments. You'll establish security requirements for infrastructure deployments and identify risks within SaaS platforms that could compromise information assets. This is a hands-on position with significant opportunity to influence security outcomes across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security reviews of new and existing applications to verify alignment with security baselines; periodically update baselines based on emerging threats and industry standards
• Collaborate with architecture teams on threat modeling, risk assessment, and implementation of security controls and mitigations
• Guide secure-by-design principles during application implementation phases
• Establish security principles, policies, and governance processes; design and implement secure development lifecycle frameworks alongside Governance, Risk and Compliance teams
• Embed security throughout the product lifecycle—from discovery and threat modeling through design reviews, secure delivery, and post-release monitoring
• Identify and resolve security vulnerabilities through static/dynamic code analysis, security scanning, investigation of InfoSec reports, and collaboration with incident response teams
• Define scope for and oversee application penetration tests
• Lead strategic security initiatives that strengthen security posture organization-wide

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5–8+ years of experience in cloud applications, cybersecurity, or related domains
• Proven experience performing threat modeling and security reviews
• Hands-on experience with whitebox, greybox, and blackbox assessments or oversight of application penetration tests focused on OWASP
• Strong documentation skills and ability to communicate complex technical challenges clearly
• Experience collaborating with IT and non-IT teams across various disciplines
• Ability to balance security requirements with business outcomes

Preferred:

• Relevant certifications: CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent
• Expert knowledge of zero trust, identity, threat detection, and threat modeling practices
• Self-motivated with experience solving complex problems
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working with Architecture and Infrastructure teams
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly in complex deployments
