Senior Commercial Finance Analyst

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital health organization that is scaling internationally. Our client is seeking a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst to join their Commercial FP&A team in a remote capacity within the UK.

This is not a traditional back-office finance role. You will operate at the intersection of commercial strategy and technical data execution, translating complex unit economics into actionable growth levers while leveraging modern tooling and AI to automate routine tasks and focus on strategic insights.

Responsibilities

• Commercial Performance Analysis: Partner with brand leads to analyze daily performance, examining marginal returns on spend across multi-channel marketing funnels beyond basic CAC reporting
• Financial Modeling: Maintain and scale complex, driver-based financial models that bridge high-level P&L targets with granular operational data
• AI Integration: Utilize AI and automation tools including LLM-assisted data cleaning, Python scripts, and advanced workflows to accelerate reporting cycles and enhance predictive forecasting
• Unit Economics Analysis: Deconstruct LTV/CAC ratios, payback periods, and cohort retention profiles to advise on capital allocation across different geographies
• Data Synthesis: Collaborate with data teams to ensure robust data integrity, transitioning from static reporting to dynamic, real-time dashboards
• Scenario Planning: Build stress-test models to evaluate impacts of supply chain shifts, pricing elasticity, and new market entry variables
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a financial partner to marketing and operations teams, translating strategic roadmaps into headcount plans and operating budgets

What We're Looking For

• 3-6 years of experience in a high-intensity analytical environment; backgrounds in investment banking or high-growth companies are highly valued
• Strong FP&A and commercial finance foundation with proven experience supporting business performance through financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic analysis
• Experience within D2C, B2C, consumer, subscription, or high-growth commercial environments is strongly preferred
• Deep understanding of commercial metrics including:
  • Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)
  • Lifetime Value (LTV)
  • Retention and cohort analysis
  • Revenue performance and unit economics
• Technical expertise: Expert-level Excel/Google Sheets is baseline; proficiency in SQL, Python, or data visualization tools (Looker/Tableau) is essential
• AI-native approach: Proactive use of AI tools to enhance productivity, from automating spreadsheet workflows to synthesizing large datasets
• Precision and speed: Investment banking-style attention to detail combined with startup agility to deliver 80/20 analyses when business needs require quick decisions
• Communication skills: Ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable executive summaries that drive decision-making
• Comfortable discussing brand strategy with general managers and SQL joins with data engineers in the same conversation
