Senior Cloud Test & DevOps Engineer (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential public-sector technology organization seeking a Senior Cloud Test & DevOps Engineer for a remote contract position based in Germany.

In this role, you will secure and advance a cloud-native platform through comprehensive testing and continuous improvement:

• Design, build, and execute integrative system and end-to-end tests to ensure integrity and functionality of upcoming releases
• Develop test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases, implementing them independently within the platform environment
• Create and build relevant end-to-end use cases to demonstrate platform capabilities
• Establish continuous feedback cycles with development and DevOps teams to drive platform improvements
• Develop and communicate optimization recommendations for user-centric and operational documentation
• Prepare and conduct integrative system demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders
• Own the complete lifecycle from conception and documentation through implementation and delivery
• Prospectively take on operational responsibilities for a centrally managed test management system

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of SDLC principles, code versioning, and Git
• Minimum 3 years practical experience in DevOps or DevSecOps
• Minimum 3 years experience building and using CI/CD pipelines
• Minimum 3 years experience with Linux, automation, and scripting
• Minimum 2 years experience with Kubernetes and containers
• Minimum 2 years experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps
• Minimum 2 years experience documenting user stories and features with Jira
• Minimum 2 years experience working in agile environments with Scrum or Kanban
• Deep Kubernetes and private cloud knowledge in complex environments
• Experience in test and release management
• Willingness to undergo security clearance screening (SÜ2 nach § 9 SÜG)
• Authorization to work in Germany; work must be performed within Germany

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with test automation
• Experience with integration testing in cloud-native environments
• Knowledge of agile scaling methodologies such as SAFe
• Experience building or operating test management systems

Contract details: October 12, 2026 through December 31, 2026, with possible extension. 90% remote work with quarterly travel to Berlin (twice per quarter).
