Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential robotics simulation client searching for a Senior Asset Pipeline Engineer to build production-grade content pipelines at scale. You will own the architecture that takes raw geometry from varied sources and produces physically valid, render-ready assets without manual intervention.
Your responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining the end-to-end asset pipeline, from ingestion through validated output, with guardrails that reject non-compliant data before it enters the library
- Designing agent-driven pipeline nodes that generate content, make decisions within the graph, and include structured outputs, retries, and verification to ensure reliability in batch processing
- Developing automated processing stages: mesh repair, retopology, decimation and LOD generation, UV unwrapping, texel density normalization, and collision proxy creation
- Deriving physical properties so assets behave correctly: mass, inertia, contact parameters, and articulation setup for simulation environments
- Managing appearance workflows: material conversion to PBR, texture processing, baking, and color management for path-traced rendering
- Defining and enforcing asset standards including units, orientation, pivots, naming conventions, and provenance tracking
- Scaling the pipeline to handle large batch operations with caching, versioning, and selective reprocessing when upstream stages change
- Embedding quality checks directly into the pipeline: physics stability tests, render validation, automated evaluation of generated content, and regression comparison on reprocessed assets
- Collaborating with rendering, physics, and research teams to define what "sim-ready" means for each downstream use case
What We're Looking For
Our talent team is seeking a candidate with deep production pipeline experience and strong technical judgment about content quality and automation.
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years building content or asset pipelines in games, VFX, simulation, or 3D tooling, with ownership of a pipeline deployed to production
- Deep knowledge of 3D asset formats and their limitations: USD, glTF, FBX, OBJ, plus physics description formats such as URDF or MJCF
- Strong Python skills and C++ proficiency where performance is critical
- Hands-on mesh processing expertise: remeshing, decimation, UV generation, repair operations, convex decomposition, and a clear understanding of failure modes for each technique
- Solid command of PBR material authoring, texture baking, and color space management
- Experience driving DCC tools headlessly (Blender, Houdini, Maya) and building batch or distributed job systems
- Practical experience integrating LLM or agent calls into production systems: prompting, tool use, structured output, cost and latency control, and non-determinism handling
- Understanding of what makes an asset physically valid in a simulator: separation of visual and collision geometry, mass properties, contact behavior, and numerical stability
- Judgment about quality bars, including knowing when an asset is good enough and when it requires further work
Nice to have:
- Experience processing output from generative or reconstruction-based 3D sources with automated evaluation
- Agent frameworks, orchestration, and evaluation tooling applied to content generation
- OpenUSD at scale: composition, layering, MaterialX
- Semantic annotation and dataset curation for large volumes
- Exposure to simulation platforms such as MuJoCo, Isaac Sim, or similar systems
