Senior Android Developer (freelance)

intent is seeking a Senior Android Developer for fully remote, freelance work. You'll architect and build Android applications interfacing with physical hardware via Bluetooth Low Energy for a globally distributed engineering team that's designed connected devices and wearables for Oura, BOSE, and other clients since 2008.

What This Role Involves

As a Senior Android Developer at intent, you'll own the full Android stack for hardware-connected applications. This is freelance work structured around real client projects: you're paid for hours on active deliverables (90–180 PLN/h net B2B, depending on experience). The first three months are a mutual evaluation period—can we all confirm the collaboration works, the project fit is right, and the cadence clicks? If so, there's a clear pathway to a permanent position with fixed salary and full benefits. Until then, work independently on a net B2B basis, fully remote, with optional access to our Warsaw office or Gdansk coworking space.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android applications that communicate reliably with hardware over BLE protocols
• Write clean, performant Kotlin code structured for testability and designed to last beyond your tenure
• Contribute to technical specification, feature planning, and effort estimation alongside product and engineering leadership
• Build and maintain comprehensive unit test coverage; champion test-driven development where it adds clarity
• Provide thoughtful code review feedback that elevates the entire team's output
• Diagnose and resolve performance issues and edge-case bugs, including OEM-specific challenges
• Share technical learnings through documentation, internal talks, and pair programming sessions
• Integrate AI tools into your daily development workflow as a productivity multiplier

What You Bring

• Deep, hands-on expertise in Android development and demonstrable proficiency with Kotlin
• Solid understanding of Bluetooth Low Energy and experience working with hardware protocols
