Senior Flutter Developer (freelance)

Join intent, a fully remote software studio, as a Senior Flutter Developer on a freelance basis. We're looking for an experienced engineer who can build production-ready Flutter applications that control hardware devices over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connections, working with clients across wearables, smart audio, and health-tech sectors.

What This Role Involves

You'll develop and enhance Flutter applications that serve as the interface between users and sophisticated hardware ecosystems. Your work will span both iOS and Android platforms, requiring deep understanding of how app-level code translates into tangible device behavior. You'll collaborate with firmware teams, industrial designers, and product managers to ship applications that don't just compile on multiple platforms—they deliver a seamless user experience regardless of the operating system. This isn't template work; it's specialized development where your code directly controls real-world devices and sensors.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Architect and build Flutter applications communicating with Bluetooth peripherals, ensuring reliability across edge cases
• Develop iOS and Android implementations that maintain consistent behavior and performance
• Participate in technical planning, feature estimation, and architectural decisions with the broader team
• Debug complex issues discovered through QA, including hardware-specific problems that require detective work
• Review code contributed by teammates and provide mentorship through constructive feedback
• Share technical knowledge through documentation, peer programming sessions, and team presentations
• Integrate AI-assisted development tools into your daily workflow as a force multiplier
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including designers, product leads, and hardware engineers

intent designs and manufactures connected hardware products since 2008. Our team of 60+ engineers and designers operates entirely remotely with optional office spaces in Warsaw and Gdansk. We've built wearables and audio devices for recognizable clients including Oura and BOSE, backed by investors like Andreessen Horowitz and Founders Fund. We embedded AI-driven development practices before it became an industry trend. Most of the team works between 10:00 and 18:00 Central European Time, with occasional evening calls with US-based clients. You'll join a Mobile chapter for technical knowledge-sharing while being embedded in a project squad for day-to-day delivery.

This role begins as a freelance engagement on a time-and-materials basis at 90–180 PLN per hour (net B2B), with truly flexible scheduling. The first three months serve as a mutual evaluation period. If the working relationship proves productive and project demand supports it, a pathway exists to a permanent contract role including a monthly salary, 26 days of annual leave, 10 sick days, medical coverage through Saltus, and a professional development budget.
