Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential marketplace technology client seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee core disbursement accounting processes and international statutory compliance. This role involves supervising an offshore team and managing the complete accounting lifecycle for procure-to-pay, employee expenses, and asset capitalization.

Team and Process Management:

• Supervise and direct a team of offshore contractors (3) to ensure complete, accurate, and timely processing of vendor invoices and employee expense reports
• Oversee the full procure-to-pay cycle including vendor file maintenance, invoice coding, payment disbursement, monthly accruals, and reconciliations while maintaining proper controls
• Manage end-to-end employee expense reporting and reimbursement processes, ensuring policy compliance and system optimization
• Serve as primary point of contact for all accounts payable and expense-related inquiries, overseeing team responses for timely resolution
• Collaborate with third-party accountants and auditors to ensure statutory accounting compliance for international entities

Accounting and Reconciliation:

• Own reconciliation of disbursement-related accounts including prepaid vendor expenses, prepaid rent, fixed assets, intangible assets, accumulated depreciation, lease accounts, accounts payable, corporate card liability, and accrued expenses
• Manage the complete fixed asset lifecycle: capitalization, depreciation, transfers, disposals, and reconciliation with accurate tracking and reporting
• Account for intangible assets, amortization, and software capitalization in compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards
• Contribute to month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring all disbursement-related entries and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience including accounts payable supervisory experience
• Proven experience overseeing procure-to-pay processes and managing a team
• Knowledge of UK and Polish accounting principles and statutory requirements
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent prioritization skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• ICAEW ACA, ACCA, or CPA certification is a plus
• Big 4 experience is advantageous
• Previous technology company experience is beneficial
• Experience with NetSuite, corporate expense platforms, and payment systems would be an advantage

Work arrangement: This position operates on a hybrid schedule requiring two days of in-office collaboration per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) from the London office.
