Security Risk Management Specialist

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization in their search for a Security Risk Management Specialist. Our client is seeking an exceptional professional to establish and execute a comprehensive security risk program that spans the entire organization. This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere in the world.

In this role, you will be the strategic driver of how security risks are identified, tracked, and reduced across all operations. You'll combine industry best practices with innovative approaches to security risk assessments and modeling, working cross-functionally to influence decision-making at the highest levels. This position offers the opportunity to contribute thought leadership to the broader technology community through public presentations and industry engagement.

Responsibilities

• Define and establish security risk management standards and playbooks for the organization
• Analyze, improve, and operationalize security risk practices across all business units
• Evaluate, select, and implement new security requirements, tools, and methodologies
• Apply statistical models to risk frameworks including FAIR and sensitivity analysis
• Lead quantified risk assessments and integrate qualitative data for process improvements
• Develop key risk indicators and provide inputs for key control and performance indicators
• Interpret cyber security risk analyses and translate findings into business terms with actionable recommendations
• Create templates and self-service materials to enable distributed risk management activities
• Launch company-wide campaigns to perform security assessments and drive risk mitigation
• Build evaluation methods and performance indicators to measure security function effectiveness
• Develop learning and development materials for security awareness across the organization
• Work with security leadership to present information and influence organizational change
• Monitor and identify continuous improvement opportunities in risk management processes

What We're Looking For

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM field (or compelling alternative background)
• Exceptional academic track record and demonstrated drive to exceed expectations
• Deep expertise in threat modeling and risk management frameworks
• Strong knowledge of Secure Development Lifecycle and Security by Design methodology
• Proven ability to operationalize security risk management at an organizational scale
• Leadership and management capability with excellent business English writing and presentation skills
• Strong problem-solving skills paired with excellent communication abilities
• Deep technical understanding of security assessments and risk management practices
• Personal motivation to remain at the forefront of technology security
• Broad understanding of how security risk integrates with business decision-making
