Sector Leader – Healthcare

Harley Ellis Devereaux is seeking a full‑time Sector Leader - Healthcare to join its leadership team at the Arco Plaza office in Los Angeles County.

About the Role

As a Sector Leader for Healthcare, you will serve as the primary point of contact between our design teams and healthcare clients, guiding both technical execution and business growth initiatives. This position blends architectural expertise with strategic market development to shape innovative solutions for hospitals, clinics, and wellness facilities.

What You'll Do

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams from concept through construction, ensuring design excellence and adherence to healthcare standards.
• Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, administrators, and stakeholders to identify new opportunities.
• Drive business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and pursuit of repeat work.
• Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative studio culture that values creativity and technical rigor.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies that impact healthcare environments.
• Contribute to firm‑wide thought leadership through publications, speaking engagements, and internal knowledge sharing.

What We're Looking For

• A licensed architect or equivalent professional with a minimum of eight years of experience, preferably focused on healthcare projects.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale, complex designs while meeting budget and schedule goals.
• Strong business development acumen, demonstrated by a track record of winning work and expanding client bases.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging with C‑level executives and clinical staff.
• Leadership experience, including mentoring teams and coordinating consultants.
• Familiarity with healthcare design guidelines such as FGI, ADA, and LEED for Healthcare.
• Proficiency in BIM tools (Revit) and standard design software suites.
