About the Role

The Secretary I position provides essential administrative and clerical support to the International Affairs Program's Division of Management Authority at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. You'll be at the center of permit-related workflows, data management, and customer interactions that uphold the United States' international wildlife protection commitments.

What You'll Do

• Process and manage permit applications and supporting documentation with accuracy and attention to detail
• Enter and maintain data in agency systems, ensuring records remain current and accessible
• Audit records and documentation to verify compliance with regulatory requirements
• Organize and manage filing systems, both physical and digital, maintaining complete and organized records
• Provide customer service support to applicants, agency personnel, and external stakeholders
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and administrative documents as needed
• Support general office operations and administrative tasks

What We're Looking For

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn agency-specific software
• Strong organizational and filing skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
• Professional customer service experience or demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse groups
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the United States
• High school diploma or equivalent; administrative or secretarial experience is a plus
